Catechism Class Kickoff
Adult parishioners and college students, join us for our first Sunday of the Catechism in 24 Weeks with Father Gonnella!
Sunday mornings, starting Sept. 21st from 9:00am - 10:15am (between the Masses), as Fr. Gonnella leads us through the teachings of the Catechism of the Catholic Church in 24 weekly sessions. Attend any or all of the Sundays; no fee or registration is required. Lap babies are welcome! Come with questions and a hunger for knowledge (and donuts)!

Newman Fest
NEWMAN FEST!
Join us in celebrating the patron saint of our Newman Center, St. John Henry Newman, on his feast day, October 9th, at our first-ever NEWMAN FEST! We will begin the afternoon with Mass at 4:30pm, then move out into the Newman parking lot for a celebration with food, music, games, and fellowship! In keeping with a tailgate-style party, please bring your vehicle loaded with lawn chairs, yard games, and side dishes & beverages for your own family. Grilled hot dogs will be provided for everyone, but you are
welcome to bring your own grill, if you prefer to cook your own meat! Don’t miss out on the opportunity to celebrate our patron saint and to enjoy community and joy with other members of our Newman parish!

Cooking for Hope Haven
College students, join us in preparing a delicious dinner every third Thursday for our local homeless shelter, Hope Haven!

OICA Kick Off
Interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith? Grew up Catholic but never got confirmed? Come to our OICA kick off class on September 17th!
Class will be held in the Hoffman Room which is upstairs, through the Library. Snacks will be served and class will start at 6:30pm with introductions.

Come see what's happening at the Newman Catholic Student Center! From spaces to pray and places to study, Newman is a home we want to share with you. Throughout the evening, receive a tour, eat food, and hang out!

Newman Tailgate
It's the first football game of the season! Find your FOCUS missionaries tailgating in the student tailgating lot stating at 11:30am! College students welcome.

Newman Bonfire
College students, come for an evening of friendship around the fire! There will be bags, smores, music, and more. A chill Thursday night in the first week.
The Newman fire pit is through the fence behind the basketball hoop at the back of the Newman parking lot.

Spirit & Life
Wednesday night is Spirit and Life night at Newman. Come for an hour of Adoration with praise and worship music and confessions followed by Mass and then pizza and fellowship.

9:30pm - Pizza + Fellowship in the Newman Library.

Rosary Walk
Come for the weekly college rosary walk! We will meet in the Narthex and walk together on campus praying the Rosary. Need to borrow a rosary? We’ve got you covered. Don’t know how to pray the Rosary? No problem, we can teach you.
All college students welcome.

Welcome Back BBQ
Yummmmmmm! Come on over for a classic BBQ. There will be grilled food and yard games. All college students welcome.

Sunday Socials
Join us in the Newman Library for an ice-cream social after the Saturday Vigil Mass and Sunday 8:00pm Mass and for coffee and doughnuts after the Sunday 8:00am & 10:30am Masses. What a sweet way to start your school year!

Youth Ministry Day Pilgrimage
Newman Youth Ministry is partnering with St. Gall Parish Youth Ministry for a day pilgrimage to the National Shrine of St. Maximillian Kolbe in Libertyville, IL on Tuesday, August 5th. The trip is open to 6th through 12th graders. The day will include Mass at the shrine, time for prayer, talk with Brother Jason, tour of the Holocaust Exhibit, and more. We will depart by bus from St. Gall at 8:30am and return to St. Gall at 5pm.
The cost of the trip is $30 per person. Please pack a lunch and water! Click here to register.

Teen VBS
Entering 7th grade to 12th grade? Teen VBS is for you! Each evening will include dinner, adoration, guest speakers, games, fellowship, and prayer. Join us July 29th to 31st from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Invite your friends!

Corpus Christi Procession
Come adore Jesus with prayer and song together as a parish community as we process with the Eucharist around the block. Invite family and friends to experience this beautiful devotion. A light luncheon will follow the procession.

24 Hour Study
Prepare for finals, rest, eat good snacks & food, watch fun movies, and more at Newman during 24 hour study!
There will be quiet and group study rooms. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday there will be homemade dinner at 5:30pm and Mass at 9:00pm.

Newman Basketball Tournament

Bishop Malloy is coming, once again, to celebrate our evening Palm Sunday Mass at 8pm. All our welcome!

Be Reconciled: Confession All Day
Come and be reconciled to the Lord. Receive the super abundant mercy of God available to us in the sacrament of reconciliation. Confessions will be heard from 9:00am until 9:00pm in the confessional. Let us repent and rejoice well!

It’s finally time for one of Newman’s most highly anticipated events of the year: The PowerPoint Party! College students, join us for an evening of fun, laughter, learning at this years PowerPoint party.

Day of Service with Franciscans in Chicago
College students, spend a day with Newman serving the poor with the Franciscans of the Eucharist of Chicago. What a great opportunity to practice almsgiving this Lent!

The Most Reverend David J. Malloy serves as the ninth Bishop of the Diocese of Rockford. Passionate about guiding the faithful and proclaiming the joy of the Gospel, he comes to us to speak on the Jubilee Year of Hope. The evening of the Parish Mission promises to be one of prayer, formation, and fellowship. We warmly invite you to participate in this Lenten opportunity!

Cooking for Hope Haven
College students, volunteer to help prepare and deliver a meal for those at the local homeless shelter, Hope Haven! We will begin cooking at 4:30pm downstairs in the basement kitchen of the Newman Center.
