Koinonia Retreat!!!  Last Call!
Our College retreat, Northern Illinois Koinonia (NIK 46) is February 22-24, 2019! Koinonia is a Greek word meaning community. This retreat provides a great opportunity to grow into a deeper relationship with Christ and the Church. It is for college students, by college students. There will be skits, talks, small group discussions, opportunities for prayer and celebrating Sacraments, We will have fun, deepen our faith, make new friends and more!  The cost is only $40 and registration forms are available on the table in the main lobby. Hope Haven Meal Making
Looking for something fun to do?  Like to help those in need?  Join other college students as we make a meal for Hope Haven Homeless Shelter! All college students are invited to join us in the Newman Kitchen on Thursday, February 21st beginning at 4:30pm.
The basic schedule is as follows:
4:30pm- Meet in Newman Kitchen to prepare/cook meal
6:30- Transport meal (by carpool) to Hope Haven
6:45- 8:00- Serve the meal, possibly eat with residents and help clean up
Come for all or part.  No experience is necessary.
Just come with a willing heart and a servant’s spirit!

Scholarships Available!!! Thanks to generous benefactors, Newman has a variety of scholarships available!  Information packets are available now in the main office.  Applications & Letters of Reference are due by Wednesday, March 20, 2019.

Newman Households Do you know where you’re living next year?  Newman has several apartments for students interested in living as a Catholic community sharing weekly prayer and meals together. Students are also involved at Newman with spiritual, service and social activities. The three bedroom apartments are at 615 Lucinda.  Rent is $265 per person plus utilities.

Rosary 
Do you need some inner-peace? The rosary is a powerful tool to find inner-peace in today’s noisy, busy world. Prayer is powerful!  In the rosary we ponder the life of Jesus through the eyes of his mother.  All are invited to pray the Rosary every Tuesday during the semester at 8:30pm in the Chapel.

Spirit & Life 
Wednesday, February 20 at 8pm in Church. Join us every Wednesday Night as we worship the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament through prayer, song and sacred silence. After Adoration we have 9pm Mass followed by pizza & fellowship. All are welcome

Join a small group! Led by The Newman Missionaries and student leaders, small groups meet around campus on a weekly basis and provide a wonderful opportunity to grow in community and learn about scripture & the Catholic faith. Interest cards are available in the pews or contact Grace Filipski at missionaries@newmanniu.org as soon as possible.
