Monday, October 17th at 7 pm – Dead Theologians Society

Society members meet to learn about the lives of the Saints, their heroic virtue and listen to their inspirational writings. Using the interesting and engaging DTS format and through the examples of the Saints, college students learn about and develop positive role models. In addition, members make use of time honored Catholic prayers, devotions and sacramental. Please join us for this exciting endeavor!

Tuesday, October 18th – Rosary in the Chapel at 8:30 pm

Wednesday, October 19th – Spirit and Life 8 pm to 10 pm
All are invited to stay for Spirit & Life after at 8 pm!  We will have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Scripture readings, praise & worship music and quiet prayer and reflection.  Confession is available at 8:30 pm. The evening concludes with 9 pm Mass.  Join us & bring a friend!

Thursday, October 20th at 4 pm – Hope Haven
We’ll meet in the Newman Kitchen to prepare and cook the meal and then we’ll transport it by carpool to Hope Haven. Come for all or part.  No experience is necessary. Just come with a willing heart and a servant’s spirit!  (Due to the NIU Homecoming Parade, please note the early start time this month only!)

Thursday, October 20th at 5 pm – Homecoming Float
Meet in the Newman Parking lot to help decorate the Newman Homecoming float! If you would like to be a part of the parade (which starts at 7 pm) please contact Madi Alger at  If you do not want to be in the parade come and see it.  The parade starts at 7 pm at the Art building (Jack Arends) and will head down Locust to downtown DeKalb.

March for Life 2017

Small Group Bible Study
Led by The Newman Missionaries and student leaders, small groups meet around campus on a weekly basis and provide a wonderful opportunity to grow in community and learn about scripture & the Catholic faith. If you haven’t had a chance to fill out an interest card, please contact Kat Edwards at as soon as possible.
Time and Talent
Looking for ways to get involved at Newman?  Want to help out at Mass, sing in the choir, assist with Religious Education or Youth Ministry or get involved in service projects?  We need you!  Be sure to fill out a light blue Time & Talent card as soon as possible and return to the baskets near the entrances of the Church.
