"God is spirit, and those who worship
Him must worship in spirit and truth." - John 4:24

Liturgical Ministers

As a people of faith, we are called to serve our sisters and brothers at liturgy through the various liturgical ministries. All liturgical ministers are asked to commit to an initial training and formation session; additional time commitments vary with each ministry. Ministers are scheduled three times a year (fall, spring, and summer), and an individual may be trained to become a liturgical minister at any time.

Ushers, Interpreters and Parish Altar Servers

+Lector - Proclaiming the living Word of God to the assembly is the primary role of the Lector. People with a love of Scripture and public speaking or story telling ability are encouraged to consider serving in this capacity.

+Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion -
Confirmed persons over the age of 16 are invited to be Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. Our community receives Holy Communion in the forms of both bread and wine, the precious Body and Blood of Christ.

+Altar Server - Girls and boys, 4th grade and older, minister to assist the presider at Mass as Altar Servers.  College men and women assist as altar servers at the 9:00 pm Wednesday and Sunday night liturgies.

+Usher -
The Usher ministry welcomes the members of the assembly and assists in the practical needs of helping people find seats, gathering the collection, and offering other hospitable assistance. Ushers are needed for the 10:15 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Sunday Masses.

+
Sacristan/Liturgy Assistant - The sacristan plays a vital role in the liturgy by setting up for Mass and other rites and purifying the sacred vessels in the sacristy. Sacristans should be available at least an hour before the start of Mass to prepare the bread, wine, and vessels for the Liturgy.

+Environment & Art -
Environment shapes our response to God's call in prayer. It takes many hands, especially during the busy Church seasons, to create a welcoming, artistic and prayerful environment. Those who are crafts people, seamstresses, and are gifted in the visual arts are encouraged to participate in the environment and art committee.
