Welcome to the Adult Confirmation program at Newman Catholic Student Center /
Christ the Teacher Parish. This program is for Catholics who have already been
baptized and received Holy Communion and are now ready to begin preparation for
the sacrament of Confirmation.
We meet for 8 weeks in spring
semester beginning the week of February 1st. Candidates are
confirmed at the Easter Vigil Mass.
Please
contact
mariaalderson@comcast.net to register.
Here are some important items
of information:
Sponsors:
Your sponsor must be a confirmed Catholic over the age of 16, and someone
willing to walk the journey of faith with you. Please let someone on the Team
know as soon as possible if you do not have a sponsor so we can introduce you to
a volunteer sponsor from our parish community.
Documents:
We will need a copy of your baptism certificate before spring break. Please
write or call the church at which you were baptized and ask them to send you
your certificate. They’re used to these requests in the months before Easter.
Books and
Materials:
We will provide you with
This is Our Faith
(an abridged version of the
Catechism of the Catholic
Church), and several
Catholic Updates.
There is a $20 charge for these materials (the only fee that will be asked of
you during the Confirmation process.)
Meetings:
We’ll meet once per week for the 8 weeks before Easter from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on a
weeknight to be determined once all the applications are in. Your sponsors are
always welcome to come to the classes so that they can be a full mentoring
presence to you in this journey.
